About me
I am amazed that anyone would truly be interested in me, but here goes....
I am married, and have been since 1981. I have had the fortune of being married to my very best friend and feel truly blessed for this. I have three children, two boys and a girl. At this time I have three grandchildren, two girls and one boy. I live in a small town in Kentucky but have lived all over the world. While my children were growing up, I lived in Florida where I was born and raised. My husband traveled for his work, so while they were young, I rarely got to travel. I love to travel, so took every opportunity I could, but never for long visits. When my youngest turned 18, my husband and I moved to Ahmadabad India. This is where we lived for almost two and a half years. It was an adventure of a lifetime and I am so glad I was able to go. I met the most amazing people and saw the most incredible sites.
While my husband traveled, I continued to work and always tried to finish my education. I never could, life keeps happening while we are making plans. When my husband became disabled, I realized I would never be able to support us on my education so I went back to school at the age of 42. One of the best things I ever did. I may owe student loans, but the experience was worth every penny.
I love to learn, love to read (Patricia Cornwell is my favorite author), absolutely love animals. I don't know how anyone could live in this world without some kind of pet. I have a Japanese Spitz named RikiTiki after Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book". In the book, they ’adopt’ a mongoose to keep snakes and rats away from the home. This was also RikiTiki's job while in India, therefore, I felt the name fits. The other is a Papillon I named Roxy. Fits her personality. They keep a very close eye on my husband and the Spitz has actually saved my husband’s life more times than I could remember. She is getting older and Roxy is taking over some of the duties as she is allowed.
